Engineered Security Systems was founded by Angelo George with the aim of protecting businesses from theft and burglary. Using Photo-Scan technology, ESS installs it’s first major CCTV System for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in Parsippany, NJ.

ESS is a founding member of the Professional Security Alliance, Inc. This alliance has since grown to become the world’s largest electronic security cooperative, encompassing more than 200 electronic security system integrators.

ESS takes a major step in security integration with the launch of Access Control Solutions. This includes the first off-site hosted Access Control System for Benjamin Moore.

ESS expands its off-site services to include 24/7 central station monitoring of Intrusion Alarm Systems.

Fire Alarm System installation, service, and monitoring is added as a service.

ESS is featured on the cover of Security For Buying of Products, Systems, and Services Magazine, for its Access Control integration with the United States Postal Service.

ESS is employed to upgrade the video security system for the Gateway Center, a high-rise office complex, in Newark, NJ, consisting of four towers. The enhanced security system contributed to the Gateway Center receiving the BOMA honor. This award recognizes high achievement in life safety and security risk management, along with excellence in property management and operations.

ESS Central Station adds remote CCTV services, enabling virtual guard tours, property inspection, and alarm verification.

ESS breaks ground on state-of-the-art UL central monitoring station, located at its Towaco, NJ headquarters. The upgraded facility will allow ESS to expand its capacity for video services, while streamlining all client facing, customizable features.
